State Customs Committee of Azerbaijan manages customs operations. Electronic declarations via AITS (Automated Import and Trade System). Not an EAEU member, has its own tariff schedule. Baku airport and Astara border crossing are main import hubs.

Certificate of origin: Issued by Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency (AZPROMO) or Chamber of Commerce. CIS preferential certificates available. WTO member since 2016 (observer). Import licenses: Required for: alcohol, tobacco, pharmaceuticals, weapons, precious metals. Mandatory conformity certification for many consumer goods. Veterinary and phytosanitary certificates for food products.
Limited direct trade data between MM and AZ. Most shipping routes go via major logistics hubs in Europe, UAE, or Singapore.
Key imports into AZ: Consumer goods, machinery, electronics. Key exports from MM: Natural gas, jade and gems, garments, rice, beans and pulses, teak and hardwood, fish and seafood. EAEU members share customs rules. Detailed customs declaration required.
Based on shipper reports, delivery from MM to AZ takes 7-21 days depending on the service. Express couriers (DHL, FedEx, UPS) offer faster delivery in 3-7 days. Accurate customs declarations are recommended to speed up the process.
